What a Start...Again!
I have just turned 17 last March 12, and I think it would be better for me to maintain my own blog from now on rather than keeping a blog for the organization wherein I am the Chairman, the Laboratory School Student Council of Western Visayas College of Science and Technology.
Soon my term will be ending and I am indeed very thankful for those who have been part of my last year in High School. To be awarded one of the Outstanding Student Leaders of Iloilo City (TOSLIC) is such an honor. I am more grateful to those who never left me when I was down, who helped me a lot in the organization especially my officers (whom I will be featuring soon...!) and the wonderful people whom I have known during my reign(hehe!) like Regional Directors, Station Managers, Owners and business heads of different private sectors and fellow students here in Iloilo and even throughout the country.

The Meaning of Recollection
March 5, 2008 - the IV-Gold and the IV-Diamond Pipz of the Labskul spent the whole day at St. Clement's Church Prayer Center for the Recollection thingy. According to most of our speakers, it is tthe time to reconcile with one another, especially with the Lord. We must never forget to thank Him for all the blessings that we have been recieving like our talents and abilities that we must use in order that He may give us more talents to use in glorifying his holy and precious Name.
Tears were shed while we had the time to talk with each other and ponder things that are the reason why we commit the mistakes that we have done and some personal topics that we have shared with regards to our families, the problems that we have been surpassing and how we got up and never surrendered.
A mass followed after the whole day recollection program.
Share your thoughts on the recollection:

Cool off People...!
We want to clear this out for all readers of this blog that this is maintained for the benefits of the students wheas they get to know unusual things that are happening around the Lab School like activities and etc. but when comments on the c-box are starting to get worse againts each party of whoever they are...it definately has defeated the purpose of this blog...
I hope we respect each others opinion and protect the private lives of every individual student of the LabSkul...Is that okay...?!
As for the latest..,.. last night, the SUN DANCE showdown that was sponsored by SuN CellUlar made it's way to WVCST, kudos! I mean, kudos to the group who participated from the labskul to somehow to to grab the beacon, but unfortunately...SENSITIVITY Dancers won (hindi cila masyadong prepared ha! - irony) hehe!, but at least it was nice for the group of Lorjelyn Palma, Rona Mae Jagunap and etc. to at least try to raise the Labskul Flag... we are proud of you even though you didn't beat the college guys...haha
On the other hand, Carl Jacinto, the now LSSC Vice Chairman was disqualified to run as Representative for the Lab School in the Student Government for the next school year...too bad he was not informed to sign the resignation letter after passing his Candidacy thingy...sad to say, he doesn't even have an opponent in the other party! But presently, we in the SG are working this out, even though we think that its over...there's nothing we can do about it ryt now....
Carl was in the party of Rio Mark Bentulan, the Senate pro-tempore of the SG and his opponent is Mark Gil Peraman of the CAS Student Council...
Along with Carl (before) on the LEADS party are Arvie Dorothy Parcon and Glorriane Arabang running as Senators. Nomar Delfranz Machan is running under Mark Peraman as a senator also...
Well, good luck to all of them...

The TOSLIC thing and JS Prom Night
So, ummm...How will I start this long epic ? hehe.
It's been like a week and a half since we started making a scrapbook for the "ToSLiC", The Outstanding Student Leaders of Iloilo City.
The fellas who joined me in the sleepless cold nights (nevamind the exaggerated "sleepless") and the noisy, dirty, and rushy days were the Math Club, Science Club (btw, thank you maam Reah for all the food, hot chocolate and etc., it means a lot to me!), and the English Club.
At first we started working in the AVR, but we had to move out to L7 because the Film showing thing of the E-Club.
So we did finish it and had to pass it before 5:00 and ended up passing late at 6:00 (btw, thanks Maam Alet for the happy driving experience while we were still gluing the table of contents, hehe), but of course they still accepted the scrapbooks...
The JS Prom was scheduled to start 6:00 PM Sharp @ the magnificent Hotel and Convention called the Centennial at Alta Tierra Village. Our Function "Hallowed Hall" was in the Bernwood Gardens...what a very lushy, colorful, extravagant evening leading to the late start at 7, (but of course, we were late!), shhh.... but what i've heard was there was no Doxology and National Anthem when they started the Program, (but I know, it was a difficult night for the organizers, I would understand if I were on their part, imagine the mad College Key Officials )
let me continue this later, okay.

Science, Math, LSSC and St. Joseph's Debating Club visit the Aetas Community
Located @ Brgy. Alipata, Sitio Nagpana, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo, the Laboratory School of WVCST
with Rapunzel Lim of St. Joseph School visited the Aetas Community for some Book Donation
and Feeding Program. We were accompanied by Mr. Stephen Lim of Tibiao Bakeries, Inc., We
thank You sir! When we arrived there in the target location, a wedding was being held between
an Aeta and a bisayan native, that rarely happened. For some time we were like WEDDING
CRASHERS in the small chapel for the observance of that occasional event in their community.

LabSkul joins ABS-CBN in Iloilo River Clean-Up Drive
January 19, 2007 (Saturday)- almost 38 students from the Laboratory School headed by the Lab. Sch. Student Council exclusively participated in the Iloilo River Clean-Up Drive with the theme: "Suba Ko, Tinluan Ko" spearheaded by ABS-CBN TV-10 Iloilo.
The activity started with a short program and preparation of cleaning materials in the Philippine Coast Guard Headquarters at Parola, City Proper and ended in the Promenade in front of Gaisano City, La Paz.
The students were accompanied by The 601st Squadron of the Philippine Coast Guards, Western Visayas United Motors Association and ABS-CBN Iloilo Reporters led by their News Head and Activity In-Charge, Ms. Gemma Villanueva and Station Manager Ms. Charie Ginete-Ilon.
Other organizations from the Laboratory School who joined were the Science Club, Math Club, Hi-Y Club, SAMAGFIL (Samahan ng mga Mag-aaral sa Filipino) and the Boy Scouts of the Philippines. Ms. Teen Earth 2007 Erica Calamba of I-Ilang-ilang was also one of the participants of the activity.
Among the Faculty members of the Lab. Sch. who participated were Mr. Ricky A. Quibingco, Mrs. Susan J. Tuburan and LSSC advisers Ms. Reah Ann C. Ambatang and Ms. Jo-Ann D. Apresto.
The activity then ended when the Station Manager thanked everyone and there were some picture taking with the ABS-CBN Personnel led by Ms. Ilon and Ms. Villanueva with John Mark Guda, Joyce Clavicillias, Jeniffer Garcia, Rhoda Garzon, and Nony Basco.
The participants then headed for their lunch at the La Paz Fundamental Baptist Church in Brgy. Mc. Arthur, La Paz, Iloilo City and took a little rest. After a short while before the "K.I.S.M.I.E." Program (a ministry for the youth) started, the officers and advisers had a little devotion and prayer with Youth Pastor Timothy and Curch Pastor Benjamin Equipado.
The LSSC sponsored the snacks for the 50 children from almost Three neighboring barangays of Divinagracia, Mc Arthur, and Aguinaldo of that "K.I.S.M.I.E." (Keep It Simple,Make It Enjoyable) session.
Although we were tired from the Clean-Up Drive in the morning, the day ended with a great smile in our faces and hearts seeing the charming children in the Feeding Program and we believe that we had made a great part in the conservation of the cleanliness of not just our river, but as well as our environment.
